On November 8th 2015, DWBI hosted an event inviting orphans living with HIV/AIDS from Baan Gerda to NIST in order to have fun with the students and the activities that they had set out. The day started out with more physical activities like swimming, football and basketball and gradually settled down into other activities like frame painting and card decorating. The frames were sold during events later in the year, such as World Aids Day and Starry Nights. Even the NIST varsity dance team and Y11 drama students put up a show for the children. Both the children from Baan Gerda and student volunteers had a blast interacting with each other and having a day that was not only fun, but also raised awareness about HIV/AIDS and the stigma surrounding it.

Mercy Fun Day 2013
2013
A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out with Mercy Fun Day in November. It was a fantastic event where kids living with HIV at the Mercy Center came to NIST to have fun with our students, parents, and staff. They played games, swam in the pool, made cupcakes and brownies, played football, and did arts and crafts activities. A special thank you to the student coordinators for all the hard work they put into planning end implementing the event; Irin, Nern, Hiroko, Yu, JoJo, Suveer, Yash, Naman, Arvin, JR, Thanin, and Gem. A special thank you also to Ms. Bibi and Ms. Michelle and their team of chefs, Ms Lena from Jump, Khun Nan and the catering team, Ms Nadia from the Exceptional Learners Department, and Khun Giggs with Footy for Friends. The kids really enjoyed themselves and they are looking forward to next year’s Mercy Fun Day!
